From the beginning to the end of the course, I developed a much stronger understanding of occupational health, safety and environmental management at both operational and strategic level. I learned how to critically assess HSE practices, analyse workforce perceptions, identify underlying causes, develop improvement strategies and prepare a business case for management approval. Going forward, I will build stronger HSE systems by improving contractor management, workforce involvement, competence assurance, risk control, monitoring and continual improvement. I will also use these learning outcomes to support better decision-making and create a more proactive HSE culture in my workplace.
