At the beginning of my Diploma in Safety, Health and Environment, I had basic knowledge of workplace safety. As the course progressed, I gained a deeper understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident prevention, environmental protection, emergency preparedness, and legal compliance.
The course has transformed the way I see safety. I have learned that safety is not only about rules and procedures, but also about leadership, discipline, teamwork, and caring for people. I now understand the importance of building a strong safety culture where everyone takes responsibility for protecting lives, equipment, and the environment.
Going forward, I will use the knowledge gained to build safer workplaces, improve hazard reporting, promote good housekeeping, support compliance with safety standards, and encourage workers to make safety a value in everything they do.
